Bhuvaneshwar Shidlapur to Represent Haveri District at Sugarcane Growers’ Meeting in Delhi

Haveri: A meeting of sugarcane growers is scheduled to be held in Delhi on Monday, October 12, 2026, at 3:00 PM, under the leadership of Union Minister Prahlad Joshi. Bhuvaneshwar Shidlapur, District President of the Karnataka State Sugarcane Growers’ Association in Haveri district, along with other office-bearers of the association, will participate in the meeting.

Bhuvaneshwar Shidlapur stated that the delegation would bring the problems, difficulties, and various demands of sugarcane growers in Haveri district to the attention of the Central Government, with the objective of securing justice for farmers.

He has appealed to sugarcane growers in Haveri district to share their suggestions, concerns, and demands so that these issues can be discussed at the Delhi meeting.

Several key issues will be raised during the meeting, including alleged irregularities in the calculation of sugar recovery by sugar factories, the provision of government-monitored weighing machines, crop insurance facilities for sugarcane cultivation, and the introduction of a uniform sugarcane price for farmers across North Karnataka, including Haveri district.

State representatives Lakshman Savadi, Rudrappa Lamani, and Narendra Swamy, along with senior state government officials, are also expected to participate in the meeting.
