Haveri: Three Arrested for Robbing Truck Driver at Knifepoint in Bankapur

Haveri: Police have cracked the robbery case in Bankapur, where a truck driver was allegedly threatened with a knife and robbed of cash and a mobile phone. Three accused have been arrested in connection with the case.

The incident took place around 3:30 a.m. on August 22, when truck driver Havalappa, a native of Gokak, had parked his truck near Panchavati Hotel on National Highway 48 in Bankapur.

Four persons allegedly arrived in a steel-coloured car, threatened the driver with a knife and demanded money and his mobile phone. They reportedly robbed him of ₹4,700 in cash and a Vivo mobile phone before fleeing the spot.

Following a complaint at Bankapur Police Station, police launched an investigation and arrested three accused. Police have seized the car allegedly used in the crime, bearing registration number KA-27/C-2742, along with the Vivo mobile phone.

Some other accused are still absconding, and police have continued their search to trace them. The Haveri District Police Department has appreciated the efforts of the Bankapur police team.
